Ash-Ock wasn't my idea. One day while we were at the mall in Winnipeg,
dl248 made his regular heart-wrenching trip
to the pet store to cry on all the baby dogs
and cats (he calls them puppies, and kitties, and isn't shy about saying "piggies" either).
He saw this small black cat on the shoulders
of one of the salespeople, and he bought her
right then. We brought her home, and the
other monitors loved her, Boddah going so
far as to personally adopt her and carry her around
by the scruff of her neck. He groomed her
compulsively and ended up spending a few
nights at the vets with a huge (Ash Ock fur) blockage
in his intestines that they had to use Barium (non poisonous Drain-o) to get out of him.
Yeah, Ash Ock was a joy from day one.
Nowadays, she is obsessed with DL248 and
cries at the door for hours when he leaves
for work, going so far as to drag his favourite
shirt to the door and curl up on it.
She is the smallest, but she kicks the most ass in this house.
Ash Ock got her name from one of the books in the "Paratwa Saga"
by Christopher Hinz.
Ash Ock inevitably gets alot of nicknames, pretty much
"Ash-anything"... our favourites including
"Ash Rock", "Ash Bok", "Ash Crock", "Ash Spock", and "Ash Nar"
(also from the book). Ash Ock doesn't get the beats... she gives them.
